Procrastination, one of the biggest obstacles in the path of progress. It seeps into our lives our lives even if we are organised. It shatters what we have achieved. This phase hits you where you don't feel like doing anything. The energy you had is all used up. You feel that you are a failure. These are the signs that you have hit the procrastination phase.
What makes this happen? It is important to understand this. Sometimes work can get boring as it is repetitive. But every moment in life cannot be exciting. There are bound to be some moments of boredom. Treat these moments as part of your path to success. Many a times procrastination is because of fear of failure. We postpone doing something fearing that we will not be able to do it. It becomes our defence in dealing with doubts and lack of confidence. Once you delay, you keep on putting the work off because you don't want to face the fact of not doing something at the right time. You tend to distract yourself by doing something not important for you.
One way of fighting procrastination is to challenge yourself all time. It cuts down the boredom and you get a surge of energy as there is risk involved. Don't leave anything for tomorrow what can be done today. Get organised. Write down what you want to do, the deadlines and the time you can spend on it. Reward yourself for task done ahead of time. This will work wonders for you. Check your task list every day to ensure that yesterdays work is not being done today. If so, then you have chosen to procrastinate. Winners never do it.
