THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY

The events that took place in our country in the last few days has prompted me to write this short note. The title of this has been taken from a well-known western movie.

THE GOOD: The rains have been good these past few days. I am sure majority of us were scared of the problems arising of water shortage. It has rained well here and also in Gujarat, much to the relief of the people, ending a dry spell. The poise and calmness with which the Lok Sabha Speaker Mr. Somnath Chatterjee conducted the vote of trust is creditable.

THE BAD: The blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad have really left us terrified. With news coming that more cities are under threat the atmosphere is terrifying. Surat has been lucky in the sense that the bombs were found before they went off. The death of upcoming singer Ishmeet Singh is a big loss also.

THE UGLY: Who else but our honorary Members of the Parliament. The less said the better about them. They have made a mockery of our democracy. People who cannot see eye to eye have joined hands either to win the vote of trust or to oppose it. Ideologies change in matter of no time. With the world watching us, what ever happened on 22nd July was really not called for.
