SECRET OF LIFE

Our great defect in life is that we always seek ideality. The goal is so much more enchanting, alluring and so much bigger in our mental horizon that we lose sight of the details altogether. But when failure comes in almost all cases it will be due to not paying attention to the means. Proper attention to the means is what we need. We forget that it is the cause that produces the effect. When the means are perfected the effect is bound to come. The realisation of the ideal is the effect. Attention to the means is the great secret of life. We have to work with all our power, to put our whole mind in the work, that we are doing. At the same time we must not be attached. That is to say we must not be drawn away from the work by anything else; still be able to quit the work whenever we like.
If we examine our own lives we find that the greatest cause of sorrow is this: we take up something, put our whole energy on it and even if it is a failure we cannot give it up. We know it is hurting us and further clinging on to it will bring us misery, still we cannot tear ourselves away from it. Why are we here? We came to enjoy, but we are being enjoyed. We came to rule but are being ruled. We came to work but our being worked. We find this all the time. It comes into every detail of our life. We are being worked upon by other minds and we are struggling to work on other minds. We want to enjoy the pleasures of life and they eat into our vitals. We want to take everything from nature, but we find that in the long run natures takes everything from us.
Had it not been for this, life would have been all sunshine. With all its failures and successes, with all its joys and sorrows it can be one succession of sunshine, if only we are not caught.

BALANCE YOUR LIFE

1) Define success for yourself. Clarify and write down what success means for you.
2) Get a hold of your finances. Pay bills on time, make a budget, live within means.
3) Get rid of the energy drain. Resolve issues that drain your energy. Keep your brain free of
feeling of conflict and puzzlement.
4) Discover your personal drivers. Find the personal values and beliefs that make you tick.
Try and use these to motivate yourself.
5) Don't settle for anything, raise your own bar. The higher you raise your standards, fewer
problems will appear in life.
6) Take care of yourself. Have personal time. Treat yourself doing things you enjoy by
yourself. It de-stresses and also fills void in your daily life.
7) Create areas of abundance. Create reserves in your finances, relationships, family and work
life with the belief that there is always more.
8) Clarify your expectations. Let people know what you expect from them and they from you. It will make things a whole lot clearer for you and others also.
9) Rid yourself to the attitudes of others. Do not tolerate other people's behaviour if it
drains your energy. Respect others opinions but do not let them dominate your life.
10) Recognise and respect your intuition. Your personal intuition is like a force field that
protects you from those who harm you.

GREAT LIFE

"A mountain is composed of tiny grains of earth. The ocean is made up of tiny drops of water. Life is but an endless series of little details, actions, speeches and thoughts. The consequences whether good or bad of even the least of them are far reaching."
-Swami Vivekananda
Life is a skill. Once we know the ground rules and practice, we can get better. Much better. If we really devote our self to life, we can reach a place of mastery.Pay attention to life. Determine what we want our life to stand for, our learning over the years and what our legacy will be. It is important to realise our talents. What good is making a mistake if we don't learn from it. Life returns what we give it. Donate our best. Set goals, make plans, take action and chase dreams. Once we do the best, life will do the rest.Enjoy life. We take life seriously. Billionaire or sweeper all end up as dust. So lets have some fun and live a great life.

KNOW THYSELF

1) There are only two people who can tell you the truth about yourself. An enemy who has lost his temper and a person who loves you dearly.
2) When you are good to others you are best to yourself.
3) The worst regret we have in life is not for the wrong things we did but for the right things we never did.
4) Winning means doing better than you did before.
5) You make a living by what you get. But you make a life by what you give.
6) Never bend to the demands of social pressure at the expense of your uniqueness.
7) GOD uses ordinary people who are obedient to him to do extraordinary things.
8) Erasers are for people who are willing to correct their mistakes.

INTEGRITY

Today morning I had been to Dadar station to get tickets for the Diwali holidays. After the person at the reservation counter gave me the tickets, I hurried back. On reaching home I realised I did not collect the change from the counter. I went back to the counter and before I spoke a single word, the man at the counter smiled and gave me the change. He had kept the money at the side for me. I had set my mind in the mode that I had lost the money. How wrong I was. Hope I learn a lesson from what happened.
