CHOICES

Most of our stress comes from the fact that we feel we have no choices. We make everything in our lives a must to complete. There are at least three options for every situation. Realise these options and you can live life by CHOICE.
Often we try to complete things that don’t even matter. We must learn to break this pattern and not react to the demands of our environment. Never make things more urgent and important than they are.
DISTRACTION: When stressed most of us want to do something that requires no thinking. Watching T.V., eating without hunger are few examples. We find ourselves living in no man’s land.
DELUSION: People who are stressed spend time making more ‘to-do’ lists. When they think they are on the right track, they are interrupted by demands of others around them to do things of lesser importance. Just avoid it.
DEMAND: Many times things happen for which we have not planned. Sickness in the family for example. These become more urgent and important. We need to set aside time for it.
ZONE: To create a life of fulfillment we must spend our life doing things that are important but not urgent. This is called living in the zone. Spending time with loved ones, working on a project which, though may not demand immediate action, but when done will create an advantage for your office. Reading books that develop mind and give knowledge for improvement, exercising etc.
Activity without a true sense of purpose is the drain to a life of fulfillment. Urgency is an artificial and mechanical demand that must be disciplined. Spending more time in the zone will make you create better choices to live a life of fulfillment.
