THE WALL

Is RAHUL DRAVID back? Well when was he gone? These and many more questions are being asked for quite some time now. I have been a big admirer of Dravid since he made his debut back in 1996. There is something about him that really catches my eye. His technique, composure, calmness are miles ahead of almost anyone who has played this sport. In the 12 years of his career this is the first instance where his batting average is below 40. This speaks volume of his consistency. The first lean patch to come so late in his career is turning out to be bad luck for him. All the greats have had lean patches. Only if Dravid's 12 lean months were scattered along his 12 glorious years there would have been no talk of him retiring. His recent century will sure shut many mouths and runs could start flowing from his bat. Dravid has always been very quiet and has never over shown his emotions. He is a perfect example for a
gentleman's game. We sure need players like him for the good of cricket. I myself want to see him on the field for years to come.
